What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Clinical Dietitian (Dietitian, Clinical) to provide evidence-based nutrition care to patients in Seattle, WA. In this role you will work across levels (entry to full performance) depending on grade and experience, performing nutrition assessments, developing patient-centered care plans, participating in performance improvement activities, and collaborating with clinical and food service teams.
- Conduct clinical nutrition assessments using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) for inpatient and lower-acuity patients.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based nutrition interventions and patient-centered goals.
- Document patient encounters and clinical activities accurately in approved systems.
- Use virtual care tools as needed to expand access to nutrition services (telehealth).
- Collect and analyze data for quality improvement and support initiatives that improve patient outcomes.
- Coordinate with Food Operations and clinical units to support patient satisfaction and nutrition-related programs.
- Maintain compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other accrediting/regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Required (applies as described below — exceptions limited by grade):
- United States Citizenship (per the original position requirements).
- English language proficiency (spoken and written).
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), except where a temporary appointment at GS-07/GS-09 is allowed under specific conditions.
- Current, valid state driver’s license (incidental operator duties may apply) and ability to be cleared by Occupational Health to operate government or client vehicles where required.
Education & Experience (grade-dependent):
- GS-07: Meets basic requirements (bachelor’s or higher from an accredited institution OR equivalent education/experience).
- GS-09: One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level OR a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- GS-11: One year of experience as an RDN equivalent to the next lower grade; demonstrated skill in autonomous clinical practice, research interpretation, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of accrediting and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to deliver care using the NCP: assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Ability to apply evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines and interpret research to improve outcomes.
- Ability to develop measurable, patient-centered goals.
- Experience with virtual care/telehealth platforms is preferred.
- Ability to collect and analyze performance improvement data and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Prior experience in a Veterans’ health system or comparable large healthcare organization.
- Demonstrated leadership on nutrition-related performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with both clinical units and food service operations to enhance patient dining experiences.
Compensation & Employment Type
- Salary range: $56,715 – $109,122 per year (provided by source).
- Employment type: Full-time, Contractor (per source).
- Location: Seattle, WA (on-site with potential use of virtual care tools).
