Position Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Clinical Dietitian (Dietitian — Clinical) to deliver evidence-based nutrition care in a clinical setting in Baltimore, MD. This role supports nutritional assessment, individualized care planning, interdisciplinary coordination, and quality improvement activities. The position is contract, full-time, and offers a salary range of $57,736 — $111,087 per year.

What You’ll Do

Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation using the Nutrition Care Process (NCP)
• Develop individualized, patient-centered nutrition care plans and measurable goals
• Coordinate nutrition care with interdisciplinary teams, patients, caregivers, and community resources
• Use evidence-based nutrition practices to improve patient outcomes and participate in performance improvement projects
• Deliver nutrition services through in-person and virtual/telehealth technologies when appropriate
• Collaborate with Food Operations and other departments to support patient satisfaction and dining experience improvements
• Collect and analyze clinical data for reporting and quality initiatives
• Maintain documentation and compliance with accrediting and regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet credentialing, education and/or experience requirements shown below:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) — registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required, except where exceptions below apply
• Exception (limited): Non-credentialed candidates may be considered at entry levels (GS-07/GS-09 equivalent) for temporary appointments when permitted by agency policy; such candidates must meet degree and supervised-practice requirements and obtain RDN/RD within required timeframes
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited college/university, or foreign equivalent with appropriate ACEND evaluation if applicable
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice/experiential program (or verification of eligibility to sit for the CDR exam)
• U.S. Citizenship required where applicable by the client (per source requirements)
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience delivering patient care using the NCP in clinical settings
• Demonstrated ability to apply evidence-based nutrition practice and interpret clinical research
• Experience using virtual technology/telehealth for nutrition counseling
• Ability to develop and measure patient-centered goals and collaborate with stakeholders
• Experience analyzing data for performance improvement initiatives

Education & Grade Expectations

• Entry-level (GS-07 equivalent): Meets basic requirements; typically a developmental clinical dietitian role
• Mid-level (GS-09 equivalent): At least one year of related experience equivalent to the next lower grade OR a Master’s degree
• Advanced (GS-11 equivalent): At least one year of experience as an RDN at a lower grade plus demonstrated advanced clinical skills

• Role requires medical and occupational health evaluations per agency protocols (health history, immunizations, TB screening, etc.)
• Must comply with CDC and accrediting body standards as required by client policies
