Role Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a DevSecOps Software Engineer (Associate or Experienced) to support secure, automated software delivery for mission-critical aerospace and defense systems in Saint Charles, MO. This role focuses on DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipeline design and automation, containerization and orchestration, and implementing security controls in regulated environments.


What You’ll Do

You will help build and maintain secure, repeatable software delivery pipelines and tooling that enable rapid, reliable software releases across development, test, and production environments.

  • Lead development, documentation, and maintenance of standardized DevSecOps practices and performance metrics
  • Design, automate, monitor, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure, reliable deployments
  • Integrate security controls and compliance checks into build and release processes (RMF-aware practices)
  • Implement containerization and orchestration solutions for consistent runtime environments
  • Automate build, release, and deployment workflows using infrastructure-as-code and pipeline-as-code approaches
  • Install, configure, and maintain development and test environments aligned with DevSecOps practices
  • Provide technical support and guidance to software teams on secure development and deployment
  • Manage software dependencies, licensing evaluation, and maintenance processes
  • Support system hardening and adherence to IT/customer security directives
  • Train and mentor engineering teams on DevSecOps tools, automation, and best practices

Qualifications

Minimum and preferred qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Associate level: minimum ~2 years relevant experience; Experienced candidates: more extensive DevSecOps experience
  • Eligible to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (required)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and pipeline automation (GitLab CI/CD or similar)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance processes (RMF, secure configuration, system hardening)
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
  • Familiarity with Agile practices, build automation, and version control (Git)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in secure, regulated, or defense-related environments is highly valued
