What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking a Cleared DevOps Engineer to support production, test, and development environments that process large-scale, near-real-time analytics for intelligence and defense customers. You will design, deploy, and maintain automation, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and operational tooling to ensure high uptime, secure systems, and rapid, reliable delivery.
- Maintain development, test, and production environments with a focus on stability and uptime
- Build and deploy automation, monitoring, and analysis solutions
- Manage CI/CD pipelines to maximize deployment efficiency and reduce risk
- Implement system hardening and configuration management best practices
- Develop backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring solutions
- Build and maintain deployment tools, microservices, and operational utilities
- Test system integrity and implement infrastructure improvements
- Manage code deployments, patches, and updates across environments
- Work with open-source tooling and common DevOps platforms
- Provide technical support and collaborate with development teams to integrate operational requirements
- Stay current with industry trends and introduce improvements to tooling and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- ~0–2 years related experience (Entry-Level position)
- Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with metrics/monitoring and dashboards (Grafana)
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools and practices
- Familiarity with system administration across common OS environments
- Experience with CI/CD tools and source control (Git, SVN); Jenkins experience is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams; available to work extended hours occasionally
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must hold Top Secret clearance with current SCI access and CI Polygraph (required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AWS and cloud management
- Experience with Puppet or other configuration management frameworks
- Database experience and familiarity with operational database tasks
- Experience developing automation scripts and small microservices for ops
- CompTIA Security+ or willingness to obtain certification
- Prior exposure to Intelligence Community or DoD mission sets
Compensation & Logistics
- Pay range: $68,770 — $116,193 per year (range provided by Confidential Client)
- Employment type: Full-Time, Onsite (workstyle: Onsite)
- Travel: 0% – 25% as required
- Relocation assistance: Provided (per posting)
- Clearance: Top Secret (SCI with CI Polygraph) — current access required
- Experience level: Entry-Level (0–2 years)
