Overview

Confidential Client is hiring a Desktop Administrator I to provide tier‑1 desktop and end‑user technical support across multiple branch and office locations. This hands‑on, on‑site role focuses on workstation builds, incident resolution, automated software distribution, printer and conference‑room technology support, basic facilities coordination, and assisting with desktop standardization and imaging. The position splits time between Bethel Park, PA and Wexford, PA and supports a small multi‑branch environment.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve internal IT tickets (hardware, applications, peripherals, and basic facilities).
  • Provide clear, timely communication and set appropriate user expectations.
  • Build, configure, and deploy new workstations; assist with desktop image creation and master OS images.
  • Configure printers, thin clients and conference‑room AV technology; support on‑site meeting setups.
  • Assist with automated software distribution and endpoint patching/remediation.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes (account provisioning, hardware setup, asset sign‑off).
  • Maintain asset/inventory documentation and ensure compliance with information security policies.
  • Collaborate with IT and Facilities teams to triage and resolve cross‑functional issues.
  • Follow and help mature desktop policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred — OR a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience in lieu of education.
  • 1–3 years of IT experience in a service desk or desktop support role preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate technical issues to non‑technical users.
  • Good organizational, time management, and attention to detail; able to follow through without constant supervision.
  • Experience or familiarity with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) preferred.
  • Experience with software distribution, desktop imaging, virtual desktops/thin clients, and common service desk platforms preferred.
  • Vendor certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft) are a plus.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks described below.
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings, Saturdays, and travel locally between branches as needed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Consistent in‑office presence required (this role supports in‑person collaboration across multiple locations).
  • Prolonged standing (5–8 hours/day), frequent use of hands, forward reach, occasional bending.
  • Involves sitting and computer/monitor use; ability to see fine print and distinguish/count currency.
  • Work performed in an office environment with normal noise levels.

Schedule & Location

  • Full‑time, primarily on‑site role. The position supports multiple locations in the greater Pittsburgh region and will split time between Bethel Park, PA and Wexford, PA.
  • Candidates should live within a commutable distance of the client’s locations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary (posted): $67,640 per year — actual compensation may vary based on experience and qualifications.
