What You’ll Do

This entry-level Design Engineer (EIT) role supports municipal infrastructure projects. You will assist project engineers and project managers on design and construction-phase work for public works projects.

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, and technical research
• Prepare drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Assist with project plans and specifications, and prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates
• Support construction observation and administration: construction staking, documenting activities, measuring and testing, providing on-site oversight, and coordinating with contractors, sub‑contractors, residents, and city staff
• Contribute to project team coordination, client communications, and permit/support deliverables

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain EIT within 12 months of hire
• Open to recent graduates (Dec 2026 – May 2027) or candidates with 1–3 years of related experience
• Prior experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation preferred
• Working knowledge of CAD and civil design software (for example AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
• Ability to travel frequently during construction season and perform occasional field work
• Valid driver’s license required
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship; the client does not provide visa sponsorship for this position

• Salary range: $58,000 - $90,000 per year (range depends on experience and credentials)
