What You’ll Do

  • Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with design and construction‑phase activities on municipal infrastructure projects (streets, stormwater, water, sanitary, sitework).
  • Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and drafting, and develop rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
  • Support production of project plans, specifications, and cost/quantity take‑off estimates.
  • Participate in construction observation and administration: construction staking, documenting activities, field measurements and testing, providing general oversight, and coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, residents, and municipal staff.
  • Learn and apply project standards, permitting requirements, and agency procedures under guidance from senior staff.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET‑accredited preferred).
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Entry‑level to 1–3 years’ experience in infrastructure design and/or construction observation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation preferred).
  • Ability to travel frequently during the construction season; valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the start of employment; Confidential Client is not providing visa sponsorship or OPT extensions for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $58,000 – $90,000 per year (depending on experience and credentials).
