Role overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Design Engineer (Design Engineer I) to support electrical balance-of-system (eBOS) product development and documentation. This role is based in Lake Dallas, TX and is a full-time position focused on CAD drawings, BOMs, technical documentation, and production readiness contributions for solar/renewable energy hardware.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with creating and updating 2D/3D CAD drawings, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Support design updates, installation guides, and technical documentation under guidance from senior engineers.
- Help troubleshoot basic production issues and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and other DFx initiatives.
- Collaborate with supply chain, quality, and production teams to ensure design accuracy and readiness for manufacturing.
- Maintain compliance with internal standards and applicable codes (NEC, UL, IEEE) as directed.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline (ABET-accredited).
- 0–2 years of engineering experience; internships or co-op experience acceptable.
- Basic proficiency in CAD tools (2D/3D) and familiarity with engineering documentation practices.
- Exposure to NEC, UL, or similar standards is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Estimated annual compensation: $66,424 per year (estimated).
- Competitive hourly/salary range based on experience and qualifications.
