Overview

Confidential Client, a leader in Industrial / Manufacturing electrical products and custom solutions, is hiring an entry-level Design Engineer to support product development and the design-to-production lifecycle. This role works closely with manufacturing, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams to create and maintain technical documentation, support design validation, and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

• Support the design-to-production process by preparing and maintaining engineering documentation, specifications, and drawings.
• Use CAD and engineering tools to create and revise designs and perform basic engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in design reviews, product development initiatives, and validation testing.
• Support material selection and provide input on manufacturability and cost-effective design choices.
• Help develop and maintain technical procedures and quality-aligned documentation.
• Communicate technical information to internal teams and external stakeholders clearly and professionally.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects to increase product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.S.M.E.) or equivalent — minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Internship, co-op, or relevant hands-on engineering experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with CAD/design software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and common business applications.
• Exposure to product design and manufacturing environments (fabrication, machining, assembly).
• Familiarity with simulation, modeling, or design validation tools is a plus.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems is helpful.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Self-motivated, team-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with DFMEA or similar design-for-manufacturing analyses.
• Prior work with industrial electrical products or custom-manufactured components.
• Knowledge of GD&T and creating production-ready drawings.
