What You’ll Do
Confidential client is hiring a Design Engineer (EIT) to support municipal engineering projects. This entry-level role spends most time assisting project managers and project engineers with design and construction-phase activities across municipal infrastructure projects.
- Assist project engineers with design and construction-phase tasks on municipal projects
- Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design
- Research and prepare drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies
- Help prepare plans, specifications, and cost/quantity take-offs
- Support construction observation and administration: staking, documenting activities, measuring/testing, and coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, residents, and city staff
Who You Are / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited college
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certified or able to obtain EIT within 12 months of hire
- 0–3 years relevant experience (open to May 2027 graduates and early-career EITs)
- Experience or coursework in infrastructure design and/or construction observation
- Working knowledge of CAD and design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
- Willingness to travel frequently during construction season
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
