What You’ll Do
This role sits at the intersection of software engineering and CPU design automation. You will help build and maintain the design infrastructure used for advanced CPU development, including a high-performance internal compute cloud and AI-assisted engineering tools.
- Develop and deploy software that enhances design tools to streamline debugging and improve productivity
- Contribute to an AI-first development environment: migrate, modernize, and standardize workflows that incorporate AI-assisted tools
- Partner with compute and infrastructure teams to maintain a scalable, reliable internal cloud and toolchain that support both current and AI-augmented workflows
- Ensure correctness, security, and maintainability of the systems and code you deliver
Key Responsibilities
- Build automation and DevOps solutions for design flows and toolchains
- Integrate AI-assisted developer tools into engineering workflows where appropriate
- Create and maintain scripts and services (Python, shell, C/C++ tooling as needed) to manage compute jobs, scheduling, and data movement
- Troubleshoot complex problems across software, infrastructure, and design automation tool integrations
- Document and share best practices across cross-functional teams (CAD, software, design)
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following to be initially considered:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 3+ years of relevant experience — OR a Master’s degree in a related field
- Experience with programming and scripting (examples: Python, shell, C/C++, Perl/Tcl)
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and systems
- Demonstrated experience with data structures and algorithms
- 6+ months of exposure to AI software development tools (examples: Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with design automation tools and workflows
- Experience building or operating internal compute/cloud infrastructure for engineering workloads
- Experience applying AI-assisted development tools to large, safety- or correctness-critical codebases
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; experience collaborating across CAD, software, and design teams

Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive total compensation, including base pay, stock/bonus programs, and comprehensive benefits (health, retirement, paid time off)
- Posted US annual salary range: $105,650 - $200,340 USD. Actual pay depends on location, skills, experience, and other factors.
