About the Role

Confidential Client, a leader in Commercial Real Estate & Property Management, is hiring a Design Associate based in Philadelphia, PA. This role supports tenant improvement (TI) and interior design efforts across regional properties. You will produce test fits, construction documents in Revit, maintain design libraries, and coordinate landlord and tenant work with project managers, construction, and property teams.


What You’ll Do

  • Assist with coordination of all design-related tasks for tenant improvement projects across PA, NJ, and DE markets.
  • Prepare test fits, space plans, and pricing notes for prospective tenants.
  • Support TI Project Managers in developing tenant improvement budgets.
  • Produce Construction Documents for interior TI projects using Revit.
  • Coordinate landlord work elements and collaborate with property and construction teams.
  • Prepare space surveys for vacancies and document existing conditions.
  • Create building stacking plans and marketing plans for vacant spaces.
  • Assist with finish selection for capital projects and base building renovations.
  • Maintain product library, pricing, and an electronic library of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp and related design files.
  • Assist with operations & maintenance documents and project plans as needed.
  • Use and maintain proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred; Architecture degrees or a related Master’s are also acceptable. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; applicants with 3–5 years related experience will also be considered.
  • Space planning/design credentials required.
  • Proficiency in or the ability to quickly learn Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp is essential.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
  • Current valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance required; travel to buildings/meetings for surveys and tenant meetings is expected.

Competencies & Skills

  • Strong technical drafting and space-planning ability.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret project plans and construction documents.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to respond to common inquiries via email/phone.
  • Solid mathematical skills (area, percentages, proportions) and ability to apply basic algebra and geometry to design tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Frequent: standing, walking, talking, hearing, near and far vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
  • Occasional: sitting; use of hands to grasp; reaching; climbing or balancing; working on ladders; stooping, kneeling, crouching; lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, heights, outside weather, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
