What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Defensive Cyber Software Developer to join a Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) engineering team in Meers, OK. You will help design, build, and test software that detects, identifies, and helps mitigate cyber and electronic warfare (EW) threats to tactical systems.
- Develop and maintain software for cyber intrusion detection, signature and behavior-based detection techniques, and defensive tooling for tactical networks.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to translate analysis into production-ready features and mitigations.
- Implement and test high-performance code in compiled languages for resource-constrained and embedded environments.
- Automate data collection and analysis using scripting languages to accelerate detection and response.
- Participate in iterative development cycles (e.g., Agile), code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
- Support limited travel to customer or test sites (up to ~20% travel).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cyber Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on development experience (academic, personal projects, or professional) in compiled languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Go.
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation, data parsing, and tooling.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals and common protocols (layered stack concepts).
- Comfortable working in Linux (navigation, shell, basic editing).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as required.
Preferred (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with Wireshark and packet-level network analysis.
- Basic cybersecurity concepts: detection, intrusion analysis, signature vs. behavior-based detection.
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools (Jira, Jenkins, CI/CD).
- Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, CySA+, or Linux certifications.
Compensation & Location
- Location: Meers, OK — on-site with occasional travel as required.
- Pay Range: $57,850 – $104,575 per year (range provided by Confidential Client; actual pay will depend on experience, skills, and other factors).
- This is a full-time position.
