What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Dedicated Lending Associate (SAFE Act, B10) to support mortgage lending activity in Manhattan, NY. This role supports Home Lending Officers by servicing loan applications, coordinating with operations and underwriting, and helping grow the client pipeline through marketing and referral management.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver mortgage lending support throughout the loan lifecycle: collect borrower information, consult on mortgage options, quote rates/terms, and follow up on application progress.
  • Gather documentation from borrowers and third parties (title companies, real estate agents) and apply judgment to prepare files for underwriting.
  • Monitor the application pipeline and key dates (consent, rate locks, lock expirations, anticipated closings) and communicate timelines and requirements to clients.
  • Manage marketing and lead follow-up for assigned Home Lending Officer(s): maintain marketing materials, support open houses, realtor events, and training as needed.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure seamless application transfer to processors and underwriters, and obtain additional documentation when required.
  • Handle customer inquiries and maintain strong relationships with the client book of business.
  • Follow compliance, risk, and policy standards; escalate and report control issues transparently to safeguard the firm and clients.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in mortgage or loan origination.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and obtaining a unique identifier prior to engaging in mortgage loan originator activities; maintain and renew registration annually as required by SAFE Act regulations.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR High School diploma/equivalent with at least 2 years of relevant loan origination experience.

Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of lending products, services, and pricing alternatives.
  • Ability to understand and explain financial calculations and pricing.
  • Strong customer communication skills about required documents and processes.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing consumer lending (e.g., fair lending, privacy, RESPA).
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in partnership settings.
  • Team player focused on growing branch or community relationships.
