The Opportunity
Confidential Client is hiring a Data Scientist to work on analytics and machine-learning projects at a tire manufacturing facility in Woodburn, IN. This role focuses on managing disparate datasets, building predictive models, and moving models into production to support RDI, manufacturing and commercial teams. Entry-level training and on-the-job mentoring are provided.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee data collection, storage and interpretation across multiple business areas.
- Clean, consolidate and aggregate datasets to prepare them for analysis.
- Perform exploratory analysis and build predictive and statistical models.
- Automate machine learning workflows and support model industrialization.
- Collaborate with data engineers and platform teams to promote AI/ML models to production.
- Produce clear analysis and reports to inform business decisions and investment strategies.
- Present model results, performance and limitations so stakeholders can action or extend the work.
- Work with RDI, Manufacturing, Marketing and other stakeholders to understand and prioritize data needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or a directly related field (required).
- Master’s degree in Machine Learning or Big Data Analytics (preferred).
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R; familiarity with Java is a plus.
- Experience with SQL and with big-data tools such as Hadoop or Spark.
- Experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Solid foundation in statistics, math and machine-learning methods.
- Practical experience building, validating and deploying predictive models.
- Data mining and feature-engineering experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects or small teams and to influence stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to set and meet goals with minimal supervision and to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

- Employment type: Full-time.
- Estimated base pay: $102,291 per year (estimated).
