What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. Under supervision, you will apply statistical methods, build routine predictive models, and create automated reporting to support teams across the organization.

  • Design, develop, and evaluate basic to moderately-complex predictive models and algorithms
  • Perform exploratory and descriptive data analysis to uncover trends and patterns
  • Build, optimize, and maintain automated reports and dashboards (Tableau / Power BI / Excel)
  • Develop and document basic software, algorithms, and automated ETL processes
  • Interpret model results and translate findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to team projects
  • Communicate results through effective data storytelling and technical writing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field
  • 2–3 years of practical experience in exploratory data analysis and model development
  • Strong foundation in statistics, data modeling, and mathematical methods
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and at least one programming language: Python or R
  • Familiarity with big-data tools and platforms (Hadoop, AWS) and statistical packages (SAS, SPSS) is a plus
  • Experience creating dashboards and visualizations in Tableau or Power BI
  • Knowledge of model lifecycle execution and basic MLOps concepts
  • Strong data storytelling, presentation, and technical writing skills
  • Good interpersonal, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; our client cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering preferred

Hours & Location

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Primary workplace: Vienna, VA (onsite)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $80,400 – $135,600 per year (range provided by the client)
  • Confidential Client offers competitive pay and a benefits package. Specific benefits depend on role and location.
