What You’ll Do

This is an entry-level/full-time role for candidates who want hands-on experience building production software and data solutions. You will join engineering and data teams to deliver components that ship to customers or support internal analytics.

• Contribute to software development and data projects: write clean, tested code in Python, Java, or similar languages
• Build and maintain ETL/data pipelines and data quality checks
• Implement and evaluate basic machine learning models under mentorship
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver features
• Write unit and integration tests, and follow code review processes
• Document work, troubleshoot issues, and participate in sprint planning and retrospectives

Who You Are

Ideal for recent grads, re-entering professionals, or career-switchers with strong fundamentals and a desire to learn on the job.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience
• 0–2 years professional experience (internships, capstone projects, bootcamps and personal projects count)
• Comfortable coding in Python and/or Java and using SQL for data queries
• Familiar with basic ML concepts (regression, classification) and libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch (or eagerness to learn)
• Basic knowledge of data visualization (e.g., matplotlib, Plotly, or BI tools)
• Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative workflows
• Strong communication skills and the ability to present technical work clearly

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker)
• Exposure to full-stack or DevOps practices
• Familiarity with data engineering tools (Airflow, Spark) or BI platforms
• Coursework or projects in ML, NLP, or computer vision
• Open-source contributions, internships, or demonstrable portfolio projects

Compensation & Location

• Base salary range: $78,000 - $127,000 per year (range reflects confidential client’s posted salary band; final offer depends on experience, skills, and applicable state law)
• Employment type: Full-time
• Location: Boston, MA (role listed as Remote/Telecommute — U.S.-based applicants welcome). Confidential Client may consider flexible/remote arrangements; the primary location for record-keeping is Boston, MA.
