What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Data Scientist to apply machine learning and statistical methods to large-scale event data and recommendation systems. You will lead analytic projects that inform product and personalization decisions, design and evaluate experiments, and partner with engineering and product teams to deliver production-ready analyses and tools.

• Design, implement, and analyze experiments (A/B tests) including pre-test planning, in-flight monitoring, and post-test analysis for graduation decisions
• Improve and evaluate recommendation models to elevate user experiences for new and returning users
• Apply causal inference techniques to measure product impact and answer business-critical questions
• Work with event-level datasets using SQL, Python, and Spark to produce reliable, reproducible analyses
• Build clear visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to non-technical and cross-functional stakeholders
• Collaborate with engineers to operationalize analytics and build scalable pipelines and tools

Required Qualifications

• Strong product analytics experience and familiarity with event-level tracking data
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with Spark or similar big-data tools
• Demonstrable experience designing experiments and conducting rigorous statistical analyses
• Practical knowledge of causal inference methods applied to product or business problems
• Ability to translate complex quantitative results into clear recommendations for product and business teams
• Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards for diverse audiences

Education & Experience

• Doctorate degree or foreign equivalent in Psychology or a related field (as listed in the source)
• One (1) year of relevant experience in the position offered or a related occupation
• Entry-level candidates with demonstrated technical skills and applicable project experience are encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $211,112.99 – $232,224.29 per year (California location; posted range is included for pay-transparency compliance)
• Telecommuting permitted pursuant to company policy
