What You’ll Do

Our client’s Insights/Data team turns unique compensation datasets into stories, reports, and data products. As a Data Scientist on that team you will:

  • Partner with Marketing to take data stories from brief to published asset: run analyses, shape the narrative, and iterate quickly across blogs, reports, social content, and landing pages.
  • Support the client’s data products (e.g., data labs, market data) with research, analysis, and special projects to keep content fresh and differentiated.
  • Field questions from customers, prospects, and internal teams; translate data into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Develop a lightweight measurement framework to understand what content and experiments move the needle.
  • Build deep familiarity with the compensation dataset and translate complex findings into concise, non-technical narratives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Marketing mindset — experience using data to inform storytelling, growth, or content initiatives.
  • Strong communication and data-storytelling skills; your analyses should drive action and measurable outcomes.
  • Focus on impact — you prioritize work that improves product and business metrics.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or similar role, ideally in customer-facing contexts.
  • Exceptional data manipulation skills and strong proficiency with SQL and Python.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with compensation or labor market data (or strong willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with dbt, Hex, or modern analytics/BI tooling.
  • Experience building customer-facing data products or working directly with external audiences.

Compensation & Benefits

Targeted cash compensation (level-dependent):

  • P2: $115,000 - $144,000 (USD)
  • P3: $139,000 - $174,000 (USD)

Total rewards include meaningful equity, best-in-class medical/dental/vision, unlimited PTO, parental leave, commuter and meal stipends, a quarterly education stipend, and region-specific benefits. Level and compensation are determined by experience and interview performance.

About the Team & Culture

This role sits on an Insights pod within the Data organization. The team focuses on turning proprietary compensation data into research, indices, and content that influence the market. The organization runs a hybrid culture that typically expects in-person collaboration multiple days per week and values intellectual honesty, high standards, cross-functional teamwork, and measurable impact.

Confidential Client is committed to building a team that cares about the problem, the product, and one another.
