Role Description
This Confidential Client is hiring a Data Scientist to improve data quality and research processes using machine learning, AI, and statistical modeling. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Richmond, VA. You will work closely with product, engineering, and research teams to design, validate, and deploy models that increase data completeness, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and evaluate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models to support data quality and research objectives.
- Leverage frontier AI approaches (including computer vision and multi-modal techniques) to accelerate data ingestion, extraction, and validation.
- Design rigorous experiments and validation strategies to ensure model accuracy, robustness, and fairness.
- Translate business requirements into data-driven solutions and present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders with demos or professional visualizations.
- Monitor production model performance and proactively retrain or refine models as datasets and requirements evolve.
- Work with large, complex datasets and production engineering teams to operationalize ML solutions.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, statistics, machine learning, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning or statistical models.
- Strong understanding of modeling techniques (supervised and unsupervised), validation strategies, and evaluation metrics.
- Proficiency in Python and ML/data libraries (experience with PyTorch preferred).
- Experience working with large, complex datasets.
- Comfortable collaborating on cross-functional teams and communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into business processes or applications.
- Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers.
- Familiarity with commercial real estate datasets or related domain knowledge.
- Experience with computer vision or multi-modal modeling approaches.
