Role overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Data Scientist to join a Digital Transformation team focused on applying AI/ML and advanced analytics across Operations, Finance, Commercial/Marketing, and Laboratory functions. You will translate business problems into scalable, production-ready models and analytics products, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and measure outcomes that drive operational efficiency and improved customer experiences.

  • Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL (on-site or hybrid as required by the client)
  • Base salary: USD 90,000 - 110,000 per year (as provided by the client)

What you’ll do

  • Develop and deploy AI/ML solutions that improve operational efficiency and business outcomes across departments.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-impact analytics opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and actionable insights.
  • Design, validate, and deploy production-ready models; implement monitoring and continuous improvement processes.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities.
  • Build dashboards and reporting that clearly communicate results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Partner with IT, software development, laboratory operations, finance, and commercial teams to integrate AI into workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with healthcare data standards and organizational policies.
  • Stay current on emerging AI technologies and recommend innovative applications.

Initial strategic projects

  • Predictive churn models to identify at-risk clients and inform retention strategies.
  • Real-time courier delivery analytics to monitor specimen collections, deliveries, and sample stability.
  • “Next Best Action” recommendation engine for Account Management to improve engagement and retention.
  • Predictive inventory and workforce planning models to optimize staffing and inventory.

Qualifications & skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field; Master’s preferred.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, AI, or advanced analytics.
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Familiarity with ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience building dashboards with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and optimization.
  • Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, biotech, laboratory services, or life sciences highly preferred.
  • Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and automation.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset.
