Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Data Scientist to help turn data into clear business insights and scalable solutions. This full-time, remote/hybrid role is ideal for candidates with academic projects, internships, or early professional experience in data science, analytics, statistics, or computer science. You will work with cross-functional teams to develop models, run experiments, and deliver visualizations that influence product and business decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Collect, clean, and prepare structured and unstructured data for analysis.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends and patterns.
• Develop and evaluate statistical models and machine-learning solutions.
• Build and validate predictive models using Python and standard ML libraries.
• Design and analyze experiments and A/B tests when applicable.
• Create clear data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights.
• Write reproducible analysis and document methodologies, assumptions, and results.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate findings into action.
• Monitor data quality and identify data issues or gaps.
• Support feature engineering, model validation, and production handoffs.
• Research new tools and techniques to improve analytics workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Entry-level / Associate experience: academic projects, internships, or early-career analytics work welcome.
• Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy) or a similar programming language.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with machine-learning fundamentals and model evaluation.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy.
• Good communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have)

• Experience with scikit-learn or similar ML libraries.
• Exposure to visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience using Jupyter Notebook and version control (Git).
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Portfolio or GitHub projects demonstrating applied analytics or ML work.
