What You’ll Do
Confidential Client’s Digital Transformation team is hiring a Data Scientist to build production-ready AI and ML solutions that drive operational efficiency and measurable business impact across Operations, Finance, Commercial/Marketing, and Laboratory functions. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into predictive models, deploy and monitor models in production, and communicate insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and deploy machine learning models and predictive analytics that improve operational and business outcomes.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify high-value opportunities for AI and analytics.
- Translate business problems into model frameworks, features, and evaluation plans.
- Build, validate, and productionize AI/ML models; implement monitoring and retraining pipelines.
- Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to surface insights for stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
- Partner with IT, software engineering, laboratory operations, finance, and commercial teams to integrate solutions.
- Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with healthcare and laboratory data standards.
- Stay current on emerging AI and LLM technologies and recommend practical applications.
Initial Strategic Projects
- Predictive churn models to identify at-risk clients and recommend retention strategies.
- Real-time courier delivery analytics to track specimen collection, delivery, and sample stability.
- A “Next Best Action” recommendation engine for account management to boost engagement and retention.
- Predictive inventory and labor planning models to optimize staffing and supply chain decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics; experience in production model deployment required.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with ML libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Experience building dashboards with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and model deployment/automation frameworks.
- Exposure to healthcare, diagnostics, laboratory services, biotechnology, or life sciences is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and AI copilots is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to business stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and working both independently and collaboratively.
