What You’ll Do

As a Data Scientist with Confidential Client you will build production-ready machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI solutions that drive business impact. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams to move models from research to production.

  • Lead hands-on development of advanced ML, GenAI and agentic AI models (training, testing, evaluation).
  • Write production-grade Python code and collaborate with ML engineers to productionize models and agents.
  • Implement LLM deployment patterns including RAG, Agentic RAG, fine-tuning (e.g., LoRA), and vector search.
  • Design and validate experiments (A/B testing, offline/online evaluation) and monitor model performance in production.
  • Partner with data and software engineers to build reliable data pipelines, CI/CD, and integration with business platforms.
  • Use cloud-based AI platforms (AWS SageMaker, Bedrock, or similar) to train, deploy, and manage models.
  • Continuously research and prototype new algorithms, architectures and tooling to improve model performance and robustness.

Who You Are / Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Econometrics, Data Science or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, probability, multivariable calculus and linear algebra.
  • Demonstrated experience building, evaluating and deploying supervised and unsupervised ML models.
  • Applied experience with large language models, NLP tasks, and modern GenAI techniques (RAG, LangChain, vector DBs).
  • Experience engineering or integrating agentic AI/agents and LLM orchestration frameworks.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL; familiarity with production ML tooling and pipeline frameworks (CI/CD, SageMaker, Airflow, Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Experience with cloud AI platforms (AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure equivalents) and DevSecOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills; ability to translate technical work into business impact.

  • Cloud & Deployment: AWS (SageMaker, Bedrock), CI/CD, containerization (Docker), orchestration
  • Data: ETL, data modeling, structured & unstructured data processing
  • Databases: Relational SQL, NoSQL, Graph DBs
  • Experimentation & Monitoring: A/B testing, model monitoring, observability tools

Compensation & Logistics

  • Pay rate: $65–$75 per hour (depends on experience) — contract / right-to-hire engagement.
  • Location & work model: Hybrid — Newark, NJ (on-site presence required per team schedule).
  • Employment type: Contract (right-to-hire) — final hiring arrangement will be determined by Confidential Client.
