What You'll Do

Confidential Client is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to turn data into actionable insights, build repeatable reporting, and automate manual data processes. This role focuses on business reporting, dashboard development, data modeling, and process automation using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel.

• Collect, clean, validate, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Design, develop, and maintain recurring business and management reports.
• Build interactive dashboards and visualizations in Microsoft Power BI.
• Create data models, measures, calculated columns, and performance-optimized reports using Power Query and DAX.
• Use advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formulas) for analysis, reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and repetitive data tasks.
• Develop automated workflows, templates, and reporting solutions (Power Automate or similar) to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Monitor data quality; investigate and resolve discrepancies or unusual trends.
• Translate business requirements into analytical solutions and clear visual insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Present findings and recommendations to business, technology, and operations teams.
• Document reporting processes, dashboard definitions, ETL steps, and automation procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI: dashboard development, data modeling, Power Query, and DAX.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, conditional formulas, charts, data validation).
• Experience producing recurring and ad hoc reports for business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to automate repetitive reporting or data-processing tasks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and/or programming in Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with ETL concepts, data warehouse design, and working with large datasets.
• Experience with Power Automate or other workflow-automation platforms.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling.
• Experience integrating multiple data sources and optimizing data models for performance.
