What You’ll Do

  • Build, validate, and productionize statistical and machine learning models focused on retention, churn prediction, and customer lifetime value (CLV).
  • Analyze large insurance and customer datasets to identify drivers of attrition and lifetime value.
  • Collaborate with product, underwriting, marketing, and business stakeholders to turn model outputs into measurable actions (targeting, pricing, retention campaigns).
  • Design experiments and A/B tests to measure model-driven interventions and quantify lift.
  • Monitor model performance in production, implement governance and model-risk controls, and iterate to maintain accuracy and fairness.
  • Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences using dashboards, reports, and presentations.

Who You Are (Qualifications)

  • Experienced data scientist with a proven track record in predictive modeling for retention, churn, or CLV.
  • Comfortable working with messy, transactional insurance data and translating analyses into business value.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to explain complex models to stakeholders.
  • Self-directed and collaborative — able to lead projects and work cross-functionally with product and business teams.
  • Commitment to ethical model development and fairness in predictive analytics.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry or with insurance-specific datasets.
  • Prior exposure to deploying models into production and setting up performance monitoring.
  • Experience designing experiments or A/B tests tied to retention or monetization initiatives.

Work Arrangement & Location

This position supports hiring across the United States. The listed opportunity is for Boardman, OR; local/state employment rules and eligibility will apply.
