Overview
Confidential Client is seeking an entry-level Data Scientist (contract) based in Miami, FL. This role is an excellent fit for candidates who have strong analytical fundamentals, hands-on experience with data tools, and a desire to apply machine learning and statistical methods to real-world business problems.
What You’ll Do
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
- Build, validate, and deploy predictive models and statistical analyses to support product and business decisions.
- Translate analytical results into clear, actionable recommendations and visualizations for stakeholders.
- Develop repeatable data pipelines and collaborate with engineers to productionize models when appropriate.
- Document methods, assumptions, and results to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
- Practical experience with data analysis tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts (supervised learning, model evaluation, feature engineering).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to data quality and detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to present technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or containerization (Docker).
- Internships or project experience deploying models or building ETL pipelines.
- Experience with experimentation and A/B testing.
