You’ll work across the full analytic lifecycle — from raw data exploration to production-ready models and business-facing recommendations — collaborating with pricing and actuarial leaders.
- Perform end-to-end analyses that support rate reviews and regulatory documentation, including data preparation, trend evaluation, and loss development analysis.
- Develop, test, and refine pricing and telematics models using statistical and machine learning methods; ensure results are explainable and suitable for business use.
- Assist with reserving analyses using loss triangles, development patterns, and ultimate loss estimation aligned to actuarial and financial reporting needs.
- Build and maintain recurring dashboards and reports tracking key indicators (loss ratio, frequency, severity, cohort behavior).
- Investigate unusual portfolio shifts or segment results and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Write organized, reusable code and data workflows; document assumptions and methods so others can reproduce and extend your work.
- Communicate findings clearly in written summaries and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in actuarial analysis, insurance data science, pricing analytics, or a closely related analytical role (strong early-career candidates with internships considered).
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, cleaning, analysis, and modeling.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling principles and ability to explain model behavior and limitations.
- Experience or familiarity with machine learning libraries and working with large data environments (e.g., BigQuery) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and persistence in diagnosing unexpected data patterns.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical results to business partners.
Preferred / Nice-to-haves
- Experience with telematics or connected-vehicle datasets.
- Progress toward actuarial exams or prior actuarial internship experience.
- Familiarity with dashboarding tools and production data pipelines.
- Regular, responsible use of AI-enabled tools to speed analysis and coding, combined with sound judgment about their outputs.
