What You’ll Do

Our confidential client’s Process Development team in Lexington, MA is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to turn complex experimental and process data into clear, actionable insights that drive biotherapeutics development and manufacturing improvements.

  • Create and maintain automated workflows to integrate data from laboratory and process systems.
  • Design and deploy interactive dashboards and visualization tools to monitor process performance and identify trends.
  • Build predictive and statistical models to guide decision-making across the development lifecycle.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on complex datasets to identify anomalies and optimization opportunities.
  • Act as a technical consultant and trainer for internal teams on data science tools and best practices.
  • Collaborate with laboratory scientists, engineers, and cross-functional project teams to define data requirements and deliver timely analyses.
  • Represent the department in external technical collaborations and knowledge-transfer activities.

What We’re Looking For

  • PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computational Biology, or a related quantitative field preferred. A Master’s degree plus 6 years’ relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years’ relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience with data cleaning, integration, and management in a scientific or manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in building dashboards and data visualizations for technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience developing machine learning or statistical models applied to laboratory or process data.
  • Familiarity with systems and software commonly used in biopharmaceutical development and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction and provide mentorship to junior staff.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex findings to senior management and diverse technical audiences.

Preferred Skills & Tools

  • Hands-on experience integrating experimental/process data and automating ETL workflows.
  • Experience creating interactive dashboards and visualizations for scientific audiences.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling and machine learning workflows applied to laboratory/process data.
  • Practical knowledge of data management best practices in regulated science/manufacturing settings.
  • Experience with common data science tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and dashboarding platforms is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $116,000 to $182,270 USD. Final compensation will be determined by the candidate’s specific qualifications, education, and relevant experience. This is a full-time, regular employee position offering a comprehensive benefits package and a collaborative, innovative work culture.


Location & Work Arrangement

This position is based in Lexington, MA. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Lexington as required by the team.
