What You’ll Do
Junior Data Scientist working on mission-focused GEOINT and intelligence collection automation. You will design, build, and maintain analytic and collection automation solutions that improve operational performance and enable faster, data-driven decisions.
- Support NSG strategies by creating automated collection models, dynamic analytic models, and workflow automations
- Design and integrate Bayesian Belief Network (BBN) processes to drive predictive, activity-based automated collection
- Develop data processing, data mining, and analytic modeling pipelines for large and heterogeneous datasets
- Implement automation tools, scripts, and workflows that improve collection orchestration and analyst productivity
- Evaluate solution performance, run regular maintenance cycles, and refine models based on metrics and stakeholder feedback
- Perform gap analyses on existing tools and processes and recommend improvements or new capabilities
- Translate technical findings into clear deliverables for technical and non-technical audiences; present status and results to stakeholders and customers
- Train users and integrate new tools, processes, and capabilities into existing operations
- Support emerging and ad-hoc mission requirements as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum requirements — candidates must meet at least one of the following and possess the technical skills listed.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience —OR— Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- Proficient in Python and SQL for data analysis, ETL, and model implementation
- Experience with data processing, analytic modeling, and data mining techniques
- Familiarity with visualization and monitoring tools (Grafana, Tableau, Kibana) to communicate results
- Strong problem solving and written/verbal communication skills; able to present to both technical and non-technical customers
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and adapt to shifting mission priorities
Desired (nice-to-have)
- Knowledge of GEOINT collection and associated NGA/NRO systems
- Experience with R, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience with object-oriented programming and software engineering best practices
- Prior exposure to Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) or probabilistic graphical models
- Experience building automation for collection orchestration or workflow automation
Security Clearance
- Active TS/SCI required and willingness to sit for a polygraph, if needed
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required U.S. government security clearances
