What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is seeking an early-career Data Scientist to join analytics teams focused on predictive and operational healthcare solutions. You will work with structured and unstructured data to build models, develop analytics pipelines, and deliver actionable insights that improve member outcomes.
- Design and develop predictive and statistical models to forecast member outcomes and the impact of interventions
- Extract, transform, and load large-scale datasets; design analytical datasets for operational and strategic use
- Build reproducible analysis tools and store analytical results in formats suited to business consumption
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and visualization to uncover patterns and support decision-making
- Design and evaluate experiments and monitoring metrics to measure improvements and model performance
- Develop algorithms and statistical methods to detect relevant events, segment populations, and rank outcomes
- Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and participate in presentations and cross-functional discussions
- Contribute to design and deployment of automated, operational analytics pipelines to scale analyses reliably
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Informatics, Econometrics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field with 1+ years of relevant experience — OR — Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of quantitative/data science experience
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and modeling
- Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data
- Experience with predictive modeling, EDA, and data visualization techniques
- Familiarity with database technologies and large-scale data workflows
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future (Confidential Client cannot offer sponsorship)
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with RStudio and modern Python data stacks (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
- Experience using Databricks (volumes/delta tables and notebooks)
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses
- Familiarity with MLOps concepts, automated analytics, and productionization of models
- Strong communication skills and an ability to translate technical results into business impact
- Healthcare or health-plan analytics experience is a plus
Location & Work Type
- This role is TELECOMMUTE / remote-eligible. The authoritative hiring location is Maryland (MD), United States.

Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $70,100 - $126,200 per year (actual pay will be based on skills, experience, and relevant job-related factors)
