Overview
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Data Scientist to join a Digital Strategic Development unit focused on AI/ML, model-based engineering, and automation for instrumentation & control (I&C) systems. This onsite role in West Mifflin, PA will contribute to integrating AI/ML models, building CI/CD pipelines, and applying secure DevSecOps practices to support critical engineering systems.
What You’ll Do
- Implement data-driven solutions to improve development and testing of I&C systems.
- Integrate AI/ML models and agentic LLM frameworks into software applications and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineers, software developers, program managers) to scope and deliver technical projects.
- Support preparation of technical justifications, specifications, and procurement planning.
- Apply new analysis methods, automation, and model-based engineering techniques.
- Develop and document process controls, procedures, and technical reports.
- Support CI/CD pipeline development and operationalization of ML models.
- Advise on AI/ML use-case best practices, including risk assessment and mitigation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related science field — or a Master’s degree in a related field.
- U.S. citizenship (must meet eligibility for access to classified matter).
- Ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation and required drug screening (includes testing for federally prohibited substances).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Degree or coursework in Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Programming experience in Python and/or C++.
- Experience with large language models, agentic LLM frameworks, and MCP servers for integrating AI agents.
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and applying AI/ML to production workflows.
- Working knowledge of on-premises deployments and DevSecOps principles.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and applying them to AI/ML systems.
- Experience with technical writing and creating specifications or procedural documentation.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $70,900 – $108,500 annually (range provided by Confidential Client; final offer depends on experience and qualifications).
