Role Overview

Confidential Client is seeking a Data Scientist to apply advanced analytics, AI/ML and optimization to supply‑chain challenges. This hybrid role is based in Chicago (345 N Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60607). Candidates must reside in the Chicago metropolitan area. Relocation assistance is not offered.


What You’ll Do

  • Develop prescriptive and predictive analytics to improve demand forecasting, inventory optimization, integrated planning and supply‑chain risk mitigation.
  • Build, validate and productionize models using machine learning, simulation and optimization techniques.
  • Evangelize and operationalize scalable analytics frameworks and tools that support long‑term transformation.
  • Influence stakeholders through clear storytelling, data‑driven recommendations and quantification of business impact.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with planning delivery, product, sales/account teams and technology to align solutions with business priorities across North America.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor on model formulation, data preparation, model development and interpretation.
  • Identify emerging analytics and AI/GenAI trends and drive thought leadership within the team.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

  • Master’s degree in operations research, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a closely related field; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum ~1 year of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence or predictive modeling (or equivalent with a Bachelor’s and strong modeling focus).
  • Demonstrated record of delivering business‑relevant solutions and influencing executive decision‑making.
  • Expertise in optimization, simulation, forecasting, machine learning and AI.
  • Advanced proficiency with Python, Databricks, AI/GenAI, prompt engineering and Azure (or equivalent cloud platforms).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with food service/restaurant operations, demand and supply planning, distribution and logistics is a plus.

Location & Work Model

  • Hybrid role based at 345 N Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60607.
  • Candidates must reside in the Chicago metropolitan area.
  • No relocation assistance is available for this posting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting base salary: $90,000–$105,000 per year.
  • Targeted bonus: 5% (target).
  • Benefits include medical, dental and vision plans, paid parental/medical leave, 401(k) with company match and profit sharing, tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment assistance, paid time off (15 days) plus company holidays, hybrid work model and inclusive employee resource groups.
