About the Role

We are seeking a Data Scientist to join a Confidential Client delivery team working on client-facing analytics and AI projects. This is a hands‑on role focused on solving business problems with Python, building data pipelines, and applying machine learning where appropriate. The role suits an early-career professional with professional software development experience (1+ year) who wants to grow their AI/ML and cloud experience.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain Python code to ingest, clean, and transform raw datasets for analytics and modeling.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to support analysis and reporting.
• Build and consume RESTful APIs for data integration and deployment.
• Prototype and evaluate machine learning models and communicate results to stakeholders.
• Follow collaborative development practices (Git, code reviews, testing).
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and document data workflows.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of professional software development experience using Python in production or project settings.
• Strong data fundamentals: SQL, data structures, working with raw datasets.
• Experience with REST APIs and integrating data from external services.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing interactions.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with one or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and collaborative software development workflows.
• Exposure to machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience deploying models or building data services (APIs, microservices).
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent work experience.

Location & Travel

This position is based in California with the expectation that candidates are willing to relocate or travel to client sites across the United States as project needs require. The Confidential Client may require assignment-based relocation; applicants should be open to U.S. relocation.
