Role Overview
Confidential Client (Telecommunications) is hiring a Data Scientist — Build Analytics to support end-to-end fiber network deployment. This remote role focuses on analytics, forecasting, and data products that improve build execution, reduce risk, and speed market readiness. You will partner with Engineering, Construction, Field Operations, Supply Chain, and IT to deliver dashboards, predictive models, and automated pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain data models that track fiber build progress, productivity, and performance
- Apply statistical analysis to build lifecycle data (planning, permitting, construction, testing, readiness) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Define and track KPIs tied to build execution and market-launch success
- Build predictive models to forecast build timelines, completion rates, resource needs (labor, materials, contractors), and risk areas (permitting delays, vendor performance, supply constraints)
- Perform scenario modeling for market launches and expansion planning
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements to cycle times, cost-per-passing/market, and resource utilization
- Create executive-ready dashboards and visualizations (progress vs. plan, risk tracking, market readiness)
- Integrate data across construction/vendor systems, supply chain, field operations, and OSS/BSS to ensure data consistency and accessibility
- Design automated data pipelines and self‑service analytics; partner with IT/Data Engineering to scale infrastructure
- Translate complex findings into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3–7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles
- Strong experience with:
- Python (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.)
- SQL and analysis of large datasets
- Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Demonstrated experience building predictive models and translating results into business outcomes
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate insights to stakeholders at all levels
- Authorized to work in the United States without employer-sponsored immigration support (Confidential Client is unable to offer visa sponsorship or transfers for this position)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, fiber deployment, construction, or infrastructure programs
- Familiarity with the build lifecycle: planning → construction → readiness → launch
- Experience with vendor performance, supply chain or logistics datasets, geospatial (GIS) data, or OSS/BSS systems
- Exposure to AI/ML initiatives, LLM training, or agentic AI development is a plus

Compensation & Benefits
- Location-based base salary range (national estimate): $110,000 — $160,000 per year
