What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring a Data Scientist — Build Analytics to support end-to-end fiber network deployment analytics. You will turn large, cross-functional datasets into forecasts, dashboards, and automated data products that improve build execution, reduce cost, and accelerate market readiness.
- Develop and maintain data models to track fiber build progress, productivity, and performance
- Apply statistical methods to analyze lifecycle data (planning, permitting, construction, testing, readiness) and identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Establish KPIs and metrics aligned with build execution and market launch success
- Build predictive models to forecast build timelines, completion rates, resource needs (labor, materials, contractors), and risk areas (permitting delays, vendor performance, supply constraints)
- Support scenario modeling for market launches and expansion planning
- Identify operational inefficiencies across construction, permitting, and deployment workflows and recommend data-driven optimizations (cycle times, cost-per-passing, resource utilization)
- Partner with build leadership to drive continuous improvement initiatives and track outcomes
- Translate complex analyses into executive-ready insights, dashboards, and ELT reporting
- Integrate and validate data across systems (construction/vendor systems, supply chain/materials tracking, field operations/dispatch, OSS/BSS)
- Design and implement automated data pipelines and enable self-service analytics for build and operations teams
- Partner with IT and Data Engineering to scale data infrastructure and data products
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 3–7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or related roles
- Strong Python (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.) and SQL skills for large-dataset analysis
- Experience building predictive models and translating findings into business actions
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar)
- Experience with AI/ML workflows; familiarity with LLM training or agentic AI development is a plus
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications, fiber deployment, construction, or infrastructure programs
- Familiarity with the build lifecycle (planning → construction → readiness → launch)
- Experience working with vendor performance, supply chain/logistics datasets, and geospatial (GIS) data
- Exposure to OSS/BSS or network deployment datasets

Compensation & Benefits
Location-based pay range (annual): $110,000 - $160,000. Actual pay will depend on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
