Role Overview

This is a limited-term (estimated 12 months) Data Scientist role supporting a Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Analytics in Research (BEAR) team within a Confidential Client operating in the Hospitals and Health Care industry.

Important notes:

• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis; this Confidential Client will not sponsor work visas for this position.
• This role partners closely with clinical teams and research investigators to design studies, execute statistical analyses, and translate results into publication-quality outputs.

What You’ll Do

• Support study design and develop statistical analysis plans for clinical and translational research projects.
• Implement and execute analyses using statistical and machine learning methods; produce reproducible code and notebooks.
• Prepare publication-ready tables, figures, and clear data summaries for manuscripts, reports, and grant proposals.
• Draft statistical methods sections and collaborate with investigators and senior biostatisticians on interpretation and presentation of results.
• Work in an agile, team-driven environment with developers, analysts, clinicians, and business stakeholders to scale analytics and data products.
• Build and validate algorithms and predictive models to address clinical or operational questions.
• Extract, clean, and transform data from clinical and research data sources using SQL or data-manipulation tools.
• Maintain version control and collaborate through source-control workflows for reproducible analyses.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a STEM or analytical field AND 2+ years of professional experience using data science tools and methods; OR a Master’s in a STEM or analytical field with evidence of applied research or work experience.
• Solid foundation in statistics and experience applying statistical modeling and/or machine learning techniques.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in at least one major data science language (R or Python).
• Experience with data extraction and manipulation (e.g., SQL, R-dplyr, Python-pandas, or SAS DATA step).
• Experience creating visualizations and communication-ready deliverables.
• Familiarity with source control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience working as part of a delivery team supporting integrated data science products or analytic solutions.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience in clinical or biomedical research, biostatistics, or healthcare analytics.
• Prior work producing publication-ready tables, figures, or contributing to peer-reviewed manuscripts.
• Familiarity with clinical data sources and privacy/security considerations in health care settings.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $107,431 – $161,147 per year (full-time equivalent). Offers are determined by multiple factors including experience, skills, and internal equity; final offers may vary within this range.
