Role Overview
This is a contract, remote Data Scientist (AI/ML) role supporting a confidential client in the Software Development industry. You will develop, deploy, and monitor machine learning models and MLOps pipelines to improve predictive performance on large-scale datasets. This position requires strong Python experience, familiarity with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), SQL skills, and cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
What You’ll Do
- Design, train, validate, and optimize ML models for classification, regression, and clustering tasks.
- Preprocess and analyze structured and unstructured datasets to extract features and insights.
- Build and maintain MLOps pipelines for model deployment, monitoring, and automated retraining.
- Create reproducible experiments and clear documentation (Python, Jupyter notebooks, version control).
- Communicate results and technical recommendations to stakeholders through visualizations and reports.
- Work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and analysis.
- Solid background in statistical modeling, experimental design, and evaluation metrics.
- Experience with cloud platforms for deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Familiarity with MLOps tools / CI-CD for models (model serving, monitoring, versioning).
- Comfortable working autonomously in a remote, contract role.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with feature stores, data pipelines (Airflow, dbt), or streaming data.
- Prior experience delivering ML solutions in production for software products.
- Strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
Contract Details & Compensation
