What You’ll Do

You will join Confidential Client as a Data Engineer focused on cloud-based data & analytics platform (DAP) work for North America Fabric Care. You’ll design, build, and maintain data pipelines and platforms that enable reliable, curated data for analytics and applications.

  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects, and analytics teams to translate business needs into well-designed data solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on a modern cloud data platform.
  • Ingest data from APIs, databases, files, and third‑party services; transform and publish curated datasets for downstream consumers.
  • Own your work end-to-end — requirements, design, implementation, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact; perform code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share knowledge.
  • Help define and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and reusable patterns.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance for the solutions you own.
  • Use modern development tools (e.g., VS Code, Git workflows) to build, test, and ship solutions.
  • Leverage Generative AI and agentic tooling to accelerate development where appropriate, with sound safety and judgment.
  • Continuously learn new technologies and share learnings across the team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience in data engineering or a closely related role.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
  • Solid understanding of data engineering fundamentals: data modeling, ETL/ELT patterns, and distributed data processing.
  • Practical experience with modern cloud platforms (Azure and/or GCP).
  • Experience integrating data solutions with APIs, databases, and external services.
  • Comfortable with Git-based collaboration and CI/CD for data pipelines.
  • Ownership mindset: able to take problems from requirement through production support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with business stakeholders.
  • Practical experience using Generative AI tools for assisted development, with judgement about safe use.
  • Ability to work in the Saint Bernard, OH area office on a hybrid schedule.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.
  • Proficiency with PySpark / Spark for large-scale data processing.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools.
  • Background in software development (APIs, testing, design patterns) beyond ETL pipelines.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Databricks Data Engineer, Microsoft/Google cloud certifications).

Compensation & Logistics

  • Employment type: FULL_TIME
  • Salary range (posted): $85,000 — $122,200 per year
  • Location: Saint Bernard, OH (hybrid schedule; ability to work in-office required)
