What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Data Engineer to join their IT team onsite at the Overland Park, KS headquarters. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and dashboards to support data-informed decisions. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, solutions partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve data quality, accessibility, and security.

• Identify, maintain, and use data pipelines, data models, reports, and dashboards to solve business problems.
• Help build and document technical best practices for data integration, warehousing, and visualization on cloud platforms.
• Analyze data workflows, spot patterns and anomalies, and recommend optimizations to improve data quality and processing efficiency.
• Contribute to coding standards and documentation for data engineering work.
• Follow PHI and data security requirements when working with sensitive healthcare-related data.
• Use AI tools and platforms responsibly to enhance workflows and support data-driven outcomes.
• Grow into support rotations and deployment responsibilities over time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience (entry-level).
• Working proficiency in SQL — strong emphasis for daily tasks.

Preferred Qualifications (what you’ll grow into)

• Exposure to Python for data tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud Platform / BigQuery).
• Experience or exposure to data transformation tools (dbt / Dataform).
• Exposure to BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
• Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Prior experience or interest in healthcare data is a plus but not required.

Work Location & Expectations

• Onsite at Confidential Client WHQ in Overland Park, KS — in-office attendance is required.
• Flexible or irregular hours may occasionally be needed.
• Must follow applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information.
• Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at hire.
