What You’ll Do
This is a hands-on, early-career Data Engineer role supporting data products and pipelines for mission-critical space technology systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to design, build, test and operate data ingestion, transformation, and delivery workflows.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data products using Python, SQL and modern cloud data platforms
- Develop, test and troubleshoot data ingestion, transformation and orchestration workflows
- Apply software engineering best practices: version control (Git), automated testing, and CI/CD
- Use AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity in coding and testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, take ownership of tasks, and rapidly iterate on solutions
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering (entry-level)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related technical field
- Strong Python skills and solid working knowledge of SQL
- Good software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving ability
- Curious, proactive, and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced startup environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, research, or coursework/projects in software or data engineering
- Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and modern data tooling
- Familiarity or experience with Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka (or similar)
- Experience using AI-enabled or assisted development tools
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary (Federal Heights, CO): $80,000 - $110,000 per year
- Equity + benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401(k), Parental Leave
- Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and location.
Location & Work Model
- Location: Federal Heights, CO (Confidential Client)
- Hybrid onsite requirement — you should expect to be onsite as business needs require (typically at least 3 days per week). Onsite requirements may change for work on classified systems.
Additional Requirements & Compliance
- To comply with U.S. government export regulations (including ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident (LPR), protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or otherwise eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
