What You’ll Do
Confidential Client is hiring an entry-level Data Engineer I to help design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data products that power analytics and mission systems. This is a hands‑on role for an early‑career engineer who enjoys coding, debugging, and learning modern data stack tools in a high‑performing environment.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL
- Implement data ingestion, transformations, and workflow logic
- Apply software engineering best practices: Git, unit testing, CI/CD
- Use cloud data platforms and tooling to deploy scalable data solutions
- Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity and testing
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams; take ownership of deliverables
Qualifications
- 0–2 years experience in data engineering, software engineering, or related roles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
- Strong Python programming skills and working knowledge of SQL
- Solid software engineering fundamentals and problem‑solving ability
- Curious, proactive, and quick to learn in a fast‑paced environment
- Willingness to work onsite as required (hybrid schedule, see Additional Requirements)
- U.S. work authorization required (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, research, or project experience in software or data engineering
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Exposure to Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka, or similar tools
- Experience with AI‑enabled developer tooling and modern CI/CD pipelines
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary (Denver, CO): $80,000 - $110,000 per year
- Equity + Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401(k), Parental Leave
- Final pay is determined case‑by‑case and may vary based on experience, skills, and location
Additional Requirements & Legal Notes
- Work location: Denver, CO. Hybrid schedule; typically expect at least 3 days per week onsite as business needs require.
- Physical/working conditions: Typical office environment; may include standard physical activities (sitting, standing, occasional lifting).
