What You’ll Do

This entry-level Data Engineer I will support the sourcing, preparation and maintenance of data assets for Wholesale Credit Delivery portfolios and operational processes. Responsibilities include:

  • Support development and maintenance of reliable data sources to satisfy project and business information needs.
  • Learn and document critical application systems and data flows; transform data so it is consumable for BI developers, analysts and data scientists.
  • Use and grow skills in SQL, Python, R and/or SAS to organize, format and automate repeatable data pipelines and extracts.
  • Deliver assigned ad-hoc data pulls, basic analyses and reports; partner with senior data engineers for direction and review.
  • Research and support remediation of data integrity issues; identify patterns and recommend fixes or process improvements.
  • Follow data management guidance including security, compliance and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate across teams to communicate findings and support business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate academic aptitude, quantitative skills and clear written/oral communication. Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in a quantitative field (as stated by the client).
  • Some hands-on exposure to data engineering tasks and managing small data volumes.
  • Familiarity with data extraction and query languages/environments (SQL, SAS, etc.).
  • Experience meeting deadlines in a collaborative project environment.
  • Willingness to learn statistical/analytical tools and data lifecycle practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quantitative roles (as stated by the client).
  • Understanding of the data analytics lifecycle, including data cleansing and preparation methodologies.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary: $181,142 (estimated).
  • Benefits (for eligible employees working 20+ hours/week) may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, tax‑preferred savings accounts, and a 401(k) plan. Paid time off starts at a minimum of 10 vacation days (prorated in year one), 10 sick days (prorated), and paid holidays. Some roles/divisions may also be eligible for pension, restricted stock units, or deferred compensation. Specific benefits depend on the hiring division and role.
