What You’ll Do

This entry-level Data Engineer will work with military clients in the Defense & Security sector to modernize data pipelines, improve financial management processes, and deliver analytics and visualizations that support audit readiness and decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into user-friendly dashboards, web query apps, and complex reports while supporting automation and advanced analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ETL pipelines in a Databricks AWS Data Lake using SQL and Python.
• Run, modify, and create Python scripts for data ingestion and transformation.
• Import and prepare data for visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) from diverse sources.
• Analyze current technical processes and recommend improvements to optimize data flows.
• Design, configure, and develop custom solutions within the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Dynamics 365).
• Support integration of analytics and automation tools (Power BI, Qlik, Databricks) to enhance reporting and decision support.

Requirements

• Must possess an active DoD SECRET security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Logistics, Business Management, OR a minimum of 5 years equivalent professional experience.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Databricks (AWS), Power BI, Microsoft Dataverse (CDS), Power Apps, and Power Automate.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to pass a background check consistent with work on government sites (FCRA-compliant).

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and optimizing ETL pipelines and big-data processing workflows.
• Experience refactoring and optimizing legacy code and integrating diverse data sources.
• Familiarity with data analytics, automation, and AI tooling.
• Direct experience with Army or other DoD financial/data systems and federal audit readiness or CFO support functions.
