Overview

Confidential client is hiring an entry-level Data Engineer / Data Scientist based in New Jersey. This role focuses on ETL/ELT pipeline design, data processing, and working with analytics and engineering teams to deliver reliable data solutions. The role is full-time.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to define and deliver reliable data solutions.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes to meet business data needs.
• Extract, transform, and load data from relational databases and other sources.
• Develop reusable utilities, user-defined functions, and data frameworks to improve data flow patterns.
• Implement and maintain automated unit tests and contribute to integration testing efforts.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational and performance issues in data pipelines.
• Work with architecture and engineering leads to ensure quality solutions and adherence to engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics/Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Entry-level / early career (seniority: Entry level).
• Intermediate Python (experience with NumPy, pandas or similar data libraries is a plus).
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and strong SQL skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Comfortable participating in testing, debugging, and code review processes.

Compensation

• Base pay range: $62,000 — $80,000 per year (range provided by the confidential client). Actual pay will be based on skills and experience.
