What You’ll Do

Confidential Client is seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I to join a hands-on data center operations team. This is an entry-level, contract role focused on maintaining critical facility infrastructure to ensure uptime, safety, and reliability.

• Support the operation and maintenance of critical systems including generators, UPS, switchgear, power distribution, cooling equipment (CRAC/Chillers), and building monitoring systems
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational reporting
• Coordinate and supervise vendors and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient facility work
• Assist with capacity planning, asset management, and minor facility improvement projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to maintain reliability and meet uptime targets
• Follow established safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts

What We’re Looking For

Candidates who succeed in this role typically have hands-on technical training or equivalent experience. This role is a strong fit for recent engineering graduates, veterans with technical training, or technicians with facilities/electrical experience.

• Bachelor’s degree OR technical/military/trade school training with relevant experience
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in data centers (generators, UPS, switchgear, cooling)
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment and follow safety procedures
• Data center, electrical, mechanical, or facilities experience is a plus
• Willingness to be fully onsite and participate in shift or after-hours work if required

Pay & Benefits

• Pay range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour (individual pay within this range will depend on qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors)
