What You’ll Do
This Data Analyst (WFH) role supports a confidential client in the food manufacturing / CPG space. You will convert raw sales and financial data into accurate Excel-based reporting, forecasts, and actionable insights for sales and marketing stakeholders.
- Build and maintain Excel dashboards and reports for business and financial review
- Develop financial models and rolling forecasts in Excel
- Analyze large sales datasets to identify trends, variances, and opportunities
- Support forecasting, cost analysis, and data reconciliation efforts
- Provide analytical support to sales and marketing teams to inform decision-making
- Assist with vendor data tracking and related commercial finance activities
- Deliver clear, timely communications of findings to cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas, charting)
- Demonstrated experience working with sales and financial datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with forecasting, cost analysis, and data reconciliation
- Good verbal and written communication; able to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, startup-like environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), food & beverage manufacturing, or retail
- Background in trade management or commercial finance
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus
- Prior contract or contract-to-hire experience supporting commercial teams
Location & Work Arrangement
- Confidential client prefers candidates based in the Chicagoland area; fully remote (WFH) arrangements may be considered.
- This posting is for work supporting a client located in the Chicago area; candidates should note potential time-zone and occasional on-site expectations if local.
