Location & Work Schedule

This position is based in Town of Huntington, NY. Hybrid work schedule — candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Town of Huntington office. Typical split: 2–3 days in-office and the remaining days remote.

What You’ll Do

This mid-level Data Analyst role focuses on ensuring reporting accuracy, data quality, and reliable analytics deliverables across the business. You will validate and reconcile datasets, troubleshoot discrepancies, maintain reporting artifacts, and partner with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.

• Own recurring data validation and quality checks across reporting datasets, ETL/ELT pipelines, and source systems.
• Investigate discrepancies between source systems, warehouse tables, and Power BI/report outputs.
• Perform routine SQL analysis and troubleshooting (joins, aggregations, reconciliation queries, duplicate detection, missing-record investigations).
• Maintain and enhance Power BI reports, semantic models, and reporting datasets.
• Fulfill stakeholder requests for recurring reports, data extracts, segmentation, and ad-hoc analyses.
• Document business logic, table definitions, pipeline dependencies, and reporting rules.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting on failed Azure / Synapse pipelines before escalating to engineering.
• Maintain data dictionaries and lightweight lineage documentation.
• Support QA for new datasets, dashboards, and pipeline changes prior to production deployment.

What You’ll Need

We’re seeking an experienced data professional who can troubleshoot data issues, document business logic, and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience working with data, reporting, or analytics.
• Strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on experience writing reconciliation and validation queries.
• Strong Power BI skills (reporting, semantic models, DAX familiarity a plus).
• Basic Python skills and experience using Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory data analysis and presentations.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipeline behavior.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms; Azure experience preferred (Synapse, Data Factory, etc.).
• Understanding of APIs, HTTP requests, authentication patterns, and JSON responses.
• Experience with e-commerce / direct-to-consumer (D2C) datasets (customer, order, marketing, web, subscription, product) is preferred.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder partnering skills.
