Data Analyst
The Data Analyst at Confidential Client supports data-driven projects by analyzing complex datasets, developing reports, visualizations, and analytical models to inform strategic decisions. This hybrid full-time role involves collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights using tools like Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Python, while exploring emerging technologies such as AI and machine learning to enhance analytics capabilities.

What You’ll Do
- Collect, prepare, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets from multiple sources to support project objectives and organizational decision-making.
- Conduct trend, performance, comparative, predictive, and scenario-based analyses to identify patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and similar platforms.
- Query and transform data using SQL and Python (Pandas, NumPy) to support analysis and automation.
- Collaborate with project teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to translate business questions into analytical approaches and recommendations.
- Produce clear, concise presentations and briefing materials that communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build and refine analytical models and methodologies to evaluate performance, risks, trends, and outcomes.
- Maintain documentation of data sources, assumptions, methods, and results to ensure reproducibility and transparency.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to increase efficiency and data quality.
- Support proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging analytics approaches, including AI/ML-assisted techniques, where appropriate.
- Participate in project meetings and cross-functional initiatives; support testing and adoption of new analytical tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in data analysis or analytics roles.
- Strong Excel skills (advanced analysis, charting, modeling).
- Proficiency with SQL for querying and manipulating relational datasets.
- Experience with Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy) and scripting/automation.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and modeling techniques used for trend and performance evaluation.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and AI-assisted analytics or automation tools preferred.
- Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment and work collaboratively on teams.
Work Location
- Hybrid — Sterling, VA (work arrangement includes on-site and remote work as required by the project).
- This role is located in Sterling, VA, USA. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
