What You’ll Do
The Confidential Client is hiring a Data Analyst to turn product, customer, and operational data into reliable analysis that drives product decisions and business performance. You will own metric definitions, build dashboards and automated reports, investigate data quality issues, and deliver clear analyses that influence cross-functional priorities.
- Query and analyze large datasets using SQL to identify trends, explain performance changes, and answer ad‑hoc and recurring business questions
- Build and maintain dashboards and self‑service reporting in Looker, Tableau, Mode, or similar BI tools so stakeholders have timely access to trusted metrics
- Define, document, and monitor core product and business metrics in partnership with product, finance, marketing, and operations teams
- Develop reusable data models and transformations (dbt or equivalent) and apply testing and documentation best practices to improve reliability
- Trace and resolve data quality issues across source systems, warehouse tables, ETL pipelines, and reporting layers
- Design analyses for experiments, funnels, cohorts, retention, and segmentation; provide actionable recommendations and explain limitations
- Present concise written and visual analyses to technical and non‑technical audiences; translate ambiguous questions into measurable outcomes
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years experience in data analysis, business intelligence, product analytics, or a related quantitative role
- Advanced SQL skills (joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, query optimization on analytical datasets)
- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks SQL
- Experience building production dashboards and reporting in Looker, Tableau, Mode, Power BI, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of data modeling and transformation practices (dbt, dimensional modeling, metrics, data tests)
- Strong analytical communication skills; ability to explain methodology, assumptions, and recommendations to varied stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, business analytics, or related quantitative field — or equivalent practical experience
Nice to Have
- Python or R for analysis and automation
- Experience with experimentation/AB testing methodology
- Familiarity with product or marketplace data, event analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel)
- Exposure to workflows/orchestration tools such as Airflow
